A Vineyard with One Foot in England and One in Wales
At Kerry Vale Vineyard, our story is shaped by the land, and here on the Shropshire side of the English–Welsh border, that land carries a special kind of magic.
The landscape surrounding our vines is Wales, and that closeness isn’t just geographical. It’s cultural, emotional, and deeply woven into who we are. We’re proud to say Croeso / Welcome — to a vineyard that honours its Welsh roots every single day.
Celebrating Our Welsh Connection
Our vines grow in England, but our spirit stretches across the border. The rolling hills, the history, the warmth of Welsh hospitality — they inspire our winemaking, our café, and the way we welcome guests.
Croeso – a warm border welcome
“Croeso” is the Welsh word for welcome, and it captures the spirit we aim for at Kerry Vale Vineyard. Whether you join us for a tour and tasting, lunch in the café or a quiet browse in the shop, you are very close to Wales in both distance and feeling.
This is border country, where lines on a map are less important than shared history, shared views and shared produce.
Supporting Welsh makers
Step into our shop and you will find work by talented Welsh producers and craftspeople. We choose to stock items made just across the border, from thoughtful gifts to food and drink that sits happily alongside our own wines. By working with Welsh makers, we keep our shelves local, support small businesses and reflect the shared character of this borderland.
Welsh produce on the plate
In our café, we use Welsh produce wherever we can. From ingredients sourced from Welsh farms and suppliers to treats that showcase traditional flavours, we like our menu to feel rooted in this place. It matters to us that what you eat and drink here tells a local story: English vineyard, Welsh neighbours, one landscape.
Welsh Names, Welsh Heart
Two of our wines pay tribute to the language and beauty of Wales:
Seren Star - A bright, elegant wine named for the night skies that blanket our valley.
Ceri Blush - to love; a soft, joyful blush that captures the gentle romance of our landscape.
These names aren’t just labels. They’re love letters to the culture that surrounds us.
A Borderland Worth Exploring
Whether you’re visiting from near or far, you’ll find that this corner of the world — where England meets Wales — has a character all its own. Rich history, rolling countryside, warm people, and a sense of place that stays with you long after you leave. We’re honoured to be part of it.
