Where is Kerry Vale Vineyard?

Kerry Vale Vineyard is a small award winning English vineyard in Shropshire - based on the Welsh border near Montgomery, Powys.


What kind of place is it?

We grow grapes, make English wine and welcome visitors for tours, tastings and food in our café and wine shop.


What wines do you produce?

We produce white, rosé, red and sparkling wines from grapes grown in our own vineyard. We also have a small range gifts in the shop.


When do vineyard tours run?

Our tours run from May to September, always on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 11am.

Is there parking on site?

Yes, we have free parking for visitors at the vineyard.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes please for vineyard tours, tastings and afternoon tea as these often sell out. If you intend to visit around lunch time, although we do take walk ins, we recommend booking a table as we can get very busy. For general visits to shop you can just drop in during opening hours.


What happens on a vineyard tour?

Your guide will take you around the vines and explain how we grow the grapes and make our wine, followed by a guided tasting of four of our wines.


Do you offer private or group tours?

How long does a tour last?

Yes, we can often arrange private tours and tastings for groups and special occasions. Get in touch with your preferred date and group size.

Tours usually last around  2 hrs. Full details are shown when you book online.

Can you cater for dietary requirements?

Children are welcome on site, but wine tasting is for over 18s only. Please bear in mind that the tour involves standing and walking outside in the vineyard.


Do you have a café?

Yes, our café serves light lunches, cakes and drinks in a relaxed setting with views over the vineyard.

Are dogs allowed?

We do our best to cater for special diets such as vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. Please tell us about any requirements when you book so we can advise what is possible.


Is the vineyard accessible for people with limited mobility?

Can i order food with my tour?

The café and shop have step‑free access. The vineyard itself is on grass with a gentle slope, which may be challenging for some visitors. Our tasting room, which is where the majority of our tour takes place, is upstairs. Unfortunately, we do not have a lift. If you have specific access needs, please contact us before your visit and we will do our best to help.


Yes, we offer a Cheese and Wine package or a Sparkling Afternoon Tea package. Both can be selected from the drop down refreshments menu when booking.

Tours go ahead in most weather, so please bring suitable outdoor clothing and comfortable shoes.


Yes, you can buy our wines and gifts from the vineyard shop during opening hours.

What should I wear for a tour?

Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the café garden and outdoor areas. Dogs are not allowed inside the café or shop.

We offer gift vouchers which can be used towards tours, tastings and wine purchases. These can be bought online or from the vineyard.


We are close to Montgomery and Bishops Castle, with walks, historic sites and other places to visit a short drive away, so it is easy to make a full day of it in the area. Powis Castle NT is also well worth a visit!
