We are a small family-run vineyard and are always grateful for volunteers. During February and March the vines need pruning ready for summer growth. Between March and April weeding and general maintenance work is undertaken around the vineyard and from June onwards we need help thinning and tucking in the vines.
The grape harvest usually starts in late September and can continue through until November. Harvesting involves picking and packing the grapes ready for the wine making process.
The work is fairly hard but satisfying and for those who enjoy the outdoors there is nothing nicer than working on the Vineyard on a sunny day. If you have an interest in wine and wine making, what better way to understand how the process begins than on the vineyard where the grapes are grown.
If you would like to become a friend of Kerry Vale Vineyard, why not sign up to volunteer. It's a social affair, you’ll meet other like-minded people and as a reward for your efforts you can enjoy a complementary glass of wine and a hearty lunch made from locally sourced produce.
