We're celebrating again after winning at the Mercian Vineyard Association’s (MVA) esteemed competition.
Following 13 awards and 5 trophies last summer, we're delighted to be celebrating again, having won two further trophies and 6 more awards for our wines at the MVA competition.
Our ‘Summer Days’ Medium/Dry white wine won two trophies; the Hinnighan Cup for Best Western Region Wine and the Wroxter Trophy for Best Medium/Dry White Wine, as well as a Silver Award. To top this off we also achieved 6 commended awards, for our other wines:
The Mercian Vineyards Association (MVA) is an organisation dedicated to English & Welsh wine and wine making in the ‘Mercian’ or midlands region. The Mercian Vineyard Association is open to both commercial and private vineyards with a total of 56 vineyard members. It encompasses vineyards from a huge region covering the Scottish and Welsh Borders to the North and West, and Staffordshire and Lincolnshire to the South and East.
The MVA’s annual wine challenge took place this year at Hothorpe Hall in Leicestershire on Sunday 13 August and was judged to International standards. There were seven categories from Dry white to sparkling.
Our award-winning ‘Summer Days’ (available to buy here or in our cellar door shop and a number of local restaurants) is well balanced and extremely refreshing.
